Optimal weather conditions have helped push Missouri’s corn planting well ahead of the average pace.
The USDA says as of Sunday 30% of the state’s corn crop has been planted, compared to the five-year average of 8%.
Five percent of soybeans have been planted, compared to the five-year average of 0%.
The state’s rice crop is 30% planted, ahead of the average pace of 12%.
Winter wheat is 3% headed, and 72% of the crop is in good to excellent condition.
