The USDA says warmer temperatures helped dry and warm the soil last week in Ohio.

Oats are six percent planted and two percent emerged, one percentage point ahead of the one-year average and one-percentage point behind the five-year average.

Sixty-two percent of the state’s winter wheat crop is rated good to excellent.

Ninety-nine percent of the topsoil moisture and 98 percent of the subsoil moisture is adequate to surplus.
