Dairy exports show minimal growth in February

The U.S. Dairy Export Council says values declined for the first time in two years during February while volumes showed incremental growth.

U.S. milk export volumes were up less than one percent mostly because of demand for lactose while values declined three percent from 2022 to nearly $675 million.

The Council the dip is not surprising given the strong competition from Europe and New Zealand along with a weaker global economy.

Volumes declined by 20 percent to South East Asia for the month in all categories except lactose which was up 44 percent.
