ARTSwork, a new organization focused on supporting individual artists, has announced a MicroGrant Dinner to raise funds for local artists seeking to accelerate a new idea or project. The MicroGrant Dinner will be on Thursday, April 13 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at West End Architectural Salvage, 22 9th Street, Downtown Des Moines.

The MicroGrant Dinner is a ticketed event that includes artists’ presentations, a contribution towards a local art project and a delicious meal. During the dinner, six artists will pitch their project to the guests. After all six of the presentations, the guests will vote on their favorite idea. The winning artist will take home a microgrant generated by the ticket proceeds.

Tickets are $45 each and include admission to the event, dinner, non-alcoholic beverages and a contribution to the selected artist project. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Tickets are limited and available at artswork.art/microgrant

“The MicroGrant Dinner brings the community together to make the vision of a local artist a reality,” said Stephen King, Executive Director of the Des Moines Arts Festival, the sister organization of ARTwork. “We’ve also witnessed guests individually fund the projects that didn’t receive the grant because they believe in the artist and want to see their project come to fruition.”

This is the second MicroGrant Dinner that ARTSwork has produced. The first event was held in September 2022 and sold out. ARTSwork anticipates the second edition to sell out as well.
