Good soil moisture as MO fieldwork begins

Soil moisture has improved in Missouri as spring fieldwork begins.

USDA’s first crop progress report of the spring planting season says topsoil moisture is rated 96% adequate to surplus. Subsoil moisture is rated 87% adequate to surplus.

Winter wheat conditions are rated 75% good to excellent.

Spring fieldwork has begun in portions of Missouri, but is not widespread enough to show up in the latest update from USDA.
