For the remainder of Friday into Saturday, heavy rain will maintain the threat of flooding in portions of the mid-South and lower Midwest. Meanwhile, the threat of severe thunderstorms—featuring high winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes— will peak later Friday across the Mississippi Delta and environs.
Farther north, a band of wet snow will develop later Friday or Friday night in the Great Lakes region, generally from northern Illinois to northern Lower Michigan.
