Stormy weather returning to the Pacific West; an active pattern continues across the Heartland

A Pacific storm system moving ashore in California later today will dominate the nation’s weather headlines during the next few days.  Initially, storm impacts will be focused across central and southern California and the Southwest, with many areas receiving heavy rain, mountain snow, and potentially damaging winds.

By mid-week, the high-wind threat will shift to southern sections of the Rockies and High Plains, where gusts of 60 to 70 mph or higher could result in reduced visibility in blowing dust.
