A beef nutritionist says he’s concerned about labor shortages in the livestock industry.
Dr. Brandon Koch is with Kent Nutrition Group. “Labor in agriculture has been really tough the last couple of years,” he said, “but I continue to see it get worse.”
He tells Brownfield farmers and ranchers are having a hard time keeping workers. “Quite honestly, in agriculture we just can’t afford to pay competitive wages to where the rest of the world is.”
Koch says the trucking industry is battling the same issue.
