Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for near- or below-normal temperatures nationwide, with the greatest likelihood of cool conditions stretching from northern and central California to the northern Plains. 

Meanwhile, near-normal precipitation from the northern Plains to the middle and northern Atlantic States will compare with wetter-than-normal weather in much of the southern and western U.S.
