Southwest Iowa Farmer Craig Swanson says producers are still facing a lot of volatility heading into the 2023 growing season.
“Margins will be a little tighter here, unless the corn market can hang in there.”
He tells Brownfield he isn’t making changes to his crop rotation despite uncertainty in markets, weather and input costs. “We’re not really changing this year. We keep about a 50/50 rotation. I think the market could go either way, so we’re not going to try to out guess the game.”
Swanson says he’s optimistic winter moisture will continue to provide some drought relief in his area.
