Kansas farmer says input costs are altering tillage options ahead of ’23 season

Southwest Kansas farmer Bruce Baldwin says the high price of inputs are forcing some farmers to switch back to tillage.

“You want to do some tillage, but yet you can’t walk away from the cover the stubble leaves you.  If you know if you start tilling it, you’re going to start walking away from that.  It’s kind of a catch 22.  You really have to manage that.”

He tells Brownfield the situation is so bad that grasslands are being impacted.
