A German farmer says his crops are in good shape as the European growing seasons gets underway.
Speaking through a translator, Arnold Loermann tells Brownfield he farms about 100 acres of barley and wheat. He says last year’s wheat crop was average. “The last harvest had been between 7 to 8 metric tons per hectare, which equates into 150 to 160 bushels to the acre.”
He says after a dry fall, there’s been additional moisture.
