Pork impact study helping identify sustainability enhancements

The president of the Michigan Pork Producers Association says he plans to plant more cover crops after a sustainability assessment.

Seventh-generation farmer Brian Pridgeon tells Brownfield he recently participated in the National Pork Board’s Pork Cares Farm Impact Report to create sustainability metrics for his farm.

“At the end, they aggregate all this data and tell a story on the way in which we care for our animals, we care for the planet with the idea this would be something that we pass on from generation to generation,” he shares.
