Corn for ethanol use, soybean crush down in December

Corn for ethanol use dropped in December following winter weather that delayed transportation and cut back schedules, which were also affected by the holidays.

The USDA says 425.283 million bushels of corn were used for ethanol production, a decrease of 6% from November and 11% from December 2021.

Production of distillers dried grains with solubles was 1,679,600 tons, 6% under the previous month and 19% below last year due to that lower ethanol production.
