2023 outlook for corn and soybean exports

An ag economist says US corn and soybean exports have two very different outlooks for 2023.

Greg McBride with Allendale says recent corn exports have been poor.

“If you look at where we’re at versus the last four weeks, we’re 41% below normal,” McBride said. “If you look at what we need to do to hit the USDA’s goal, that means that through August we have to be 20% above normal every single week to hit that number.”

He tells Brownfield he’s anticipating strong soybean sales to continue.
