Lauren Jarrett, 98, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospital.
The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Dan Schoef will officiate. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Church or Spring Valley Bible Camp. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com
Lauren was born on February 9, 1924, in Muscatine, the son of Bert and Leila McIntire Jarrett. He married Nona Brier on October 9, 1945, in Atalissa.
Lauren was a retired reflexologist. He was a member and ushered for Calvary Church. Lauren enjoyed walking, going out to eat, trying new restaurants, and traveling to Greece, the Holy Lands, Bahamas, Hawaii, and New York. He was a people person and liked to joke around saying “Hey, you old goat.” Lauren loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Nona Jarrett; two daughters, Linda Jarrett and Fern McFadon and her husband, Terry, all of Muscatine; four grandchildren, Devin Pettit, Tim McFadon, Shonna McFadon, and Chad McFadon; five great grandchildren, Tawney, Seth, Jake, Luke, and Nile; and one great great grandchild, Calahan.
Lauren is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Virgil E. Jarrett; one sister, Kathleen Richardson, and one great grandson, Sam.
