Robert Woodrow Wilks, 79, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at home, surrounded by his family.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Willie Rosin will officiate. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Wilks Jr., Jason Law, Jeff Law, Mike Soderburg, Colton Crabtree-Wilks, and Keegan Law. Honorary Pallbearer will be Justin Law.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Cindy Wilks. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Robert was born on March 17, 1943, in Powersville, Missouri, the son of Woodrow and Fay (Chinn) Wilks. He married Cynthia (Cindy) Warren on June 25, 1977, in Muscatine.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR and won the 15th annual World Series of drag racing at Cordova Dragway in 1968. Robert also showed cattle and was active in 4-H when he was younger. He was very family oriented and above all, loved spending time with his family.
Robert is survived by his wife, Cindy Wilks of Muscatine; five children, Shelia Soderburg and husband, Mike of Tennessee, Jason Law of Georgia, Jeff Law of Muscatine, Bonnie Wilks of Muscatine, and Robert Wilks Jr. of Muscatine; nine grandchildren, Krystal, Kassie, Colton, Keegan, Justin, Kenna, Makenzie, Willow, and Mila; four great grandchildren, Dakayta, Jordan, Caroline, and Adaline; and three siblings, Patsy Lane, Elmer Wilks and wife, Dolores, and Judy Hunt and husband, Joe.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Mary Fay Robinson, Laura Jo Abbott, and Diana Wessley.
