Nebraska Extension outlines 5-year focus plan

Nebraska Extension has set a 5-year focus plan that will help strengthen research and development for the state’s agriculture industry.

Charles Stoltenow, Dean of Nebraska Extension, says the university is prioritizing three areas: food systems, inspiring residents in communities and improvements in overall well-being. “These are conversations that are coming from people who are living in Nebraska, and they center around 5 areas, which include: developing a skilled workforce, reducing health care costs, creating statewide economic vitality, retaining and attracting young people and leveraging our strengths for sustained success.”

He tells Brownfield that succession planning is one example of how the plan will impact farmers.
