USDA seeks feedback on climate investment

The USDA wants to know how to implement the $19 billion for climate smart agriculture included in the Inflation Reduction Act. Under Secretary Robert Bonnie says the Natural Resources Conservation Service wants to streamline conservation programs to benefit farmers.

“We want to make sure we send direction to states early in the new year, so they can start working with producers to get those dollars. We need to design this in a way that works for producers, meeting them where they are at.”

Bonnie says climate smart agriculture is not a one size fits all approach.
