Agronomist says farmers should stick with what has worked when planning for 2023

An agronomist says farmers shouldn’t make any drastic changes to their cropping plan for 2023 based solely on this year’s drought conditions.

Jami Loecker an agronomy service manager with Syngenta says farmers have to go into every season planning for a successful year. “We’re going to have to get some rain,” she says.  “We’re going to have to make investments in a herbicide program, and we need to invest in a really great fungicide program.”

She tells Brownfield growers might change up their plan slightly, but ultimately need to stick with a product mix that provides the best economic return.
