Kansas corn harvest, winter wheat planting inch closer to the finish line

Corn harvest and winter wheat planting is close to wrapping up in Kansas.

The USDA says 83 percent of corn has been harvested, nine percent ahead of last year.  Sixty-six percent of soybeans are in.

Three-quarters of winter wheat has been planted, four percent behind last year.  Forty-six percent of the crop has emerged.

Cotton conditions is 18 percent good-to-excellent.

Pasture and range conditions are rated 79 percent poor-to-very poor.
