Beryl Battey, 98, died on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Addington Place.

Beryl was born in the Nichols area on January 29, 1924, the daughter of Lewis and Pearl Adams Schmitt. She married William C. Battey on September 3, 1944, in Muscatine.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Gary and his wife Marcia of Muscatine, and Douglas and his wife Sherie of Florida; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren.
Beryl was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Battey, in 1995; and her brothers, Clifton, Earl, and Clinton Schmitt.
