Soybeans were mixed, mostly modestly lower after an up and down day, adjusting spreads. On the bull side, near-term supplies are tight, crush margins are bullish, and soybean oil was up, following palm oil. On the bear side, U.S. harvest activity is moving forward, with generally dry weather in the forecast this week. The USDA says 63% of U.S. soybeans are harvested, compared to the five-year average of 52%, and 96% are dropping leaves, compared to 94% on average, with 57% of the crop called good to excellent, unchanged from last week.
