Corn harvest is approaching the half-way mark in Illinois, while soybean harvest has surpassed it.
The USDA reports as of Sunday, 47% of corn had been harvested, up 20 percentage points on the week and 8 points behind the five-year average. 73% of the crop is rated good to excellent.
Soybean harvest is 55% complete, up 24 points on the week and just slightly behind the average of 58%, with 71% in the good to excellent category.
