Join the Muscatine Art Center on Thursday, October 13, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for an informative evening learning about suminagashi ink, or “ink floating”, and create your own marbled paper with swirling ink and water. The final result is an intricate design but the process is quite simple! This session will be held in the Muscatine Art Center studio and led via Zoom. Reservations are required.
This session will be led by artist and naturalist, Emily Christenson, who graduated with a BFA in drawing and painting from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and has spent the last 19 years working with nature in her artwork documenting its role as teacher and healer.
Christenson combines her artwork with her spiritual gifts, teaching workshops and helping others connect to their creativity and soul’s growth. She has taught workshops with Living Proof Exhibit since 2014 and now lives in the Boreal Forests along the north shore of Lake Superior where she maintains her painting studio and spiritual healing practice.
Living Proof Exhibit provides the therapeutic benefits of the arts to those impacted by cancer. 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Register online at www.livingproofexhibit.org or by calling the Muscatine Art Center, 563-263-8282.
