Donald Vernon Siewert

Donald Vernon Siewert, 80, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the UnityPoint Muscatine Hospital.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow the visitation in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Holden Cancer Center.  Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Donald was born on June 3, 1942, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, the son of Daniel and Edna Anderson Siewert.  He married Jolene Kaye Ament on July 2, 1966, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.

Donald graduated in 1960 from Rice Lake High School.  He was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division in the United States Army.  He was self-employed at Siewert Electric before working for Monsanto as an electrician, where he retired in 2000.

He was a member of Walnut Park Baptist Church.  Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting, and ‘tinkering’ around.

He is survived by his wife, Jolene Siewert; two children, Janell Townsley and her husband, Clint, of Letts and Jeff Siewert and his wife, Kristin, of Pella; four grandchildren, Jason Townsley and his wife, Rebecca, Janessa Boley and her husband, Ryan, Zachary Siewert, and Cole Siewert and his wife, Leah; three great grandchildren, Beau, Brantley, and Ember; three brothers, Kenny, Gerald, and Daniel Jr.; and eight sisters, Midge, Marge, Gloria, Darlene, Phylis, Sherri, Valerie, and Delores.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother Ronnie.
