Canada looks at securing and strengthening potash production

The war in Ukraine continues to limit fertilizer supplies and the world’s largest potash producer is taking steps to ensure adequate supplies for farmers.

In remarks at yesterday’s Ag Outlook Forum, Acting Consul General Aaron Aannable with the Consulate General of Canada in Chicago said the country’s supply of potash to the world market is critical. “Last year, the U.S. imported more than 90 percent of its potash needs. Canada supplied more than 80 percent of these imports.
