Harvest could be warm and dry

Iowa’s climatologist says Mother Nature could provide farmers some favorable conditions as they harvest their crops.

Justin Glisan tells Brownfield, “We’re actually seeing an above average signal for warmer temperatures, but also a drier signal.”

He says any moisture that falls the next few weeks won’t benefit corn, but… “It’s going to be helpful for subsoil moisture profiles being replenished, or at least getting more moisture in the tank for next growing season.”

Glisan says farmers in the state haven’t dealt with too many weather-related disruptions the last two harvests.
