Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions along the Pacific Coast and in parts of the Southeast.
Meanwhile, below-normal rainfall from the southern half of the Plains into the Southeast should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather in the Northeast, northern High Plains, and much of the West.
