Iowa corn and soybeans both rated 66 percent good-to-excellent

An eastern Iowa farmer says his family is optimistic for this year’s crop.

Robb Ewoldt, who is also the President of the Iowa Soybean Association, farms near Davenport in Scott County. “We’ve been able to catch timely rains throughout the whole year,” he said. “Things in our neck of the woods really look good.”

The USDA says the state’s corn and soybeans are both rated 66 percent good-to-excellent.

Ewoldt tells Brownfield crops in some parts of the state look worse than others.
