A mostly dry week for Minnesota crops

Minnesota crops are doing well in most areas but 23% of the cropland is short of moisture.  USDA reporters say 68% of Minnesota’s fields have adequate topsoil moisture and 72% adequate subsoil moisture. Southwestern Minnesota below the Minnesota river had no new rainfall last week.

Ninety-two percent of the corn is now in the dough stage with 47% of that now dented.  The corn silage harvest has begun, and 9% of the silage is already harvested.
