Ethanol production, supply below a week ago

Ongoing seasonal plant maintenance continues to impact U.S. ethanol production.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production 970,000 barrels a day, the third week in a row below a million barrels and down 17,000 on the week, but up 65,000 on the year.

Production staying above those year ago levels might be a sign some plants are delaying that maintenance to take advantage of the solid margins.

The Renewable Fuels Association says net inputs by ethanol refiners and blenders fell 1.9% to a five-week low, with the volume of gasoline supplied to the market dipping 1.4%.
