The Specialty Crop Farm Bill Alliance has outlined its top principles for the 2023 Farm Bill.
Co-chair Kam Quarles tells Brownfield the group supports funding for, “Nutrition, research, and pest and disease programs.”
The group also is prioritizing maintaining a competitive and sustainable industry and supply chain along with strong domestic and international markets.
He says the Biden administration’s emphasis on conservation outside of the farm bill will likely allow for more flexibility next year.
