Wisconsin crop condition drops despite rains

Most Wisconsin crops received more rain over the past week.  USDA reporters say topsoil moisture is 77% adequate and 11% surplus and subsoil moistures are 70% adequate and 5% surplus.  Most of the state received from one to three inches of rain except for parts of Door and Kewaunee and northern Manitowoc counties.

The corn condition is down slightly from last week with 76% of the crop in good to excellent condition.  Ninety-seven percent of the corn is silking, with much of southern and central Wisconsin reporting 100% silking.
