US meets with Brazil on ethanol

The president of the Iowa Corn Promotion Board says a recent trade mission to Brazil showed growth opportunities for US ethanol.

Kelly Nieuwenhuis tells Brownfield he’s optimistic Brazil can become a key export market now that tariffs have been dropped against US ethanol. “They have that national E27 and a half blend that they want to maintain,” he said. “So, we feel pretty good that we will be able to import some ethanol to Brazil.”

He says the US and Brazil are two of the world’s largest ethanol producers.
