Wisconsin had locally-heavy reports of prevented planting

Farmers in a handful of Wisconsin counties had more prevented planting acres and failed acres than their peers in the rest of the state.

USDA figures show Wisconsin has only 23,753 prevented planting acres this year and 6,776 failed acres, but about half of the failed acres are in Brown and Oconto counties near Green Bay.  Outagamie county has the most prevented planting acres with 3,879.  Oconto county has 2,319 unplanted acres. Taylor, Winnebago, and Wood counties all have more than one thousand unplanted acres.
