Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions in parts of the south-central U.S. 

Meanwhile, below-normal rainfall from the Pacific Northwest into the far upper Midwest should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather along and east of a line from New Mexico to Wisconsin.
