Wisconsin’s hay and potato harvests continue

The harvest continues for hay, potatoes, and oats in Wisconsin as corn and soybeans continue to mature.

The third crop of alfalfa hay is 87% cut, which is 9 days ahead of average.  About 12% of the fourth crop alfalfa is also cut.  The all hay condition is improving after recent scattered rains, with 80% of the crop in good to excellent condition.

USDA reporters say 94% of the state’s corn is silking with 59% reaching the dough stage.
