Higher U.S. dollar affecting ag exports

Recent strength in the U.S. dollar is having an impact on U.S. ag exports. Guy Allen, senior economist for the International Grains Program at Kansas State University, tells Brownfield strength in the dollar due to domestic policy is slowing down ag exports, “This dichotomy between fiscal policy and monetary policy with the U.S. government – they seem to be competing against each other a bit which has a real negative impact on anything we’re trying to export.”

Allen says he’s also monitoring the tensions between the U.S.
