Upcoming children’s workshop to honor late Muscatine Artist, Jon Fasanelli-Cawelti

The Muscatine Art Center will be paying tribute to late local artist Jon Fasanelli-Cawelti during their Kids Saturday Workshop on August 27, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Jon Fasanelli-Cawelti was an accomplished printmaker who studied under some of the best printmakers at the University of Iowa, including Mauricio Lasansky. His technique of intaglio printing dates back to the 1400s but Fasanelli-Cawelti found new ways to present a traditional technique.

Children 7-14 are invited to join Miss Julie to celebrate the life and works of Jon and create a woven print in his style. The class is free to attend.

Those interested are encouraged to register by August 26.
