Pig farmers continue to implement more sustainable agricultural practices to help improve the environment.
Ben Nuelle, Public Policy Director with the Iowa Pork Producers Association, says one tenet of the “We Care” initiative is protecting natural resources. “We have these on-farm sustainability reports where we have producers across the state that are participating in this so that we can quantify what these emissions are doing, how we are trying to lower them, as well as trying to improve water quality,” Nuelle said.
