Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures in most of the western and central U.S., while cooler-than-normal conditions will cover much of the East.
Meanwhile, near- or above-normal rainfall across most of the U.S. should contrast with drier-than-normal conditions in southern Texas, the upper Great Lakes region, and an area stretching from the Pacific Northwest to northern Montana.
