Illinois crop conditions steadily increasing
USDA data shows Illinois crop conditions are steadily increasing.
As of Sunday, 75% of Illinois corn is rated good to excellent, up 1 percentage point on the week, with 70% of soybeans in the good to excellent category, up 2 points.
Two percent of the corn crop has reached the denting stage, with 55% in the dough stage and 96% silking. 90% of soybeans are blooming with 61% setting pods.
With temperatures and rainfall both above average, pasture conditions saw a 6-point improvement on the week at 54% good to excellent. The second cutting of alfalfa hay is 97% complete and the third cutting is 32% complete.
