Klobuchar encouraged as Ukraine resumes grain exports

A member of the Senate Ag Committee is encouraged by the resumption of grain exports out of Ukraine.

Minnesota Democrat Amy Klobuchar tells Brownfield the safe passage agreement between Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, and the United Nations is an important step forward.

“Because we’ve got people who are hungry all over the world and Ukraine really is one of the bread baskets of the world.”

But she remains concerned about what’s taking place in Ukraine.

“I am a strong and steadfast supporter of their right to democracy, and Putin just continues to engage in inhumane barbarism.”

The first ship to carry Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea in more than five months left the Port of Odesa Monday on its way for Lebanon.
