Small grains, potatoes, and more hay harvested in Wisconsin last week

Wisconsin farmers worked much of last week harvesting small grains and hay.  USDA reporters say 95% of the oats have headed and 9% of the crop is now harvested. 

Winter wheat coloring is at 97% with 26% of the crop now harvested. 

The second cutting of alfalfa hay is 90% finished and 13% of the third crop is also in.  All hay is reported as 81% good to excellent, a two-point drop from last week.

The potato harvesters are also rolling with 5% of the crop now dug up.  Producers say 98% of the crop is in good to excellent condition.

Thirty-three percent of corn is now silking, and 79% of the crop is in good to excellent condition.

Sixty-five percent of the soybeans are blooming with 26% of the crop now setting pods..  The overall condition of the crop is better than a week ago with 79% in good to excellent condition.
