A wetter pattern ahead for much of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures and rainfall across much of the country.

Cooler-than-normal conditions will be confined to an area stretching from the Desert Southwest to the northern Plains and upper Great Lakes region, while drier-than-normal weather should be limited to the Northwest, along with portions of the southern Atlantic States and the north-central U.S.
