Winter wheat harvest continues in Kansas

Warmer and dry conditions helped Kansas farmers progress with winter wheat harvest.

The USDA says 59 percent is in with 29 percent rated good-to-excellent.

Corn is in 59 percent good-to-excellent shape.

Soybeans are rated at 65 percent good-to-excellent with 82 percent of the crop emerged.

Cotton is rated 40 percent good-to-excellent; sorghum is seen at 54 percent good-to-excellent.

Pasture and range conditions are 44 percent good-to-excellent.

Topsoil moisture was 55 percent and subsoil moisture was 58 percent adequate-to-surplus.
