Seasonal warmth; a wetter pattern to evolve on the Plains, parts of the Corn Belt

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions in the upper Great Lakes region, along the middle Atlantic Coast, and across parts of the Southwest.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal rainfall across most of the eastern half of the U.S. should contrast with near- or above-normal rainfall in much of the West.  Exceptions to that pattern may include wet weather in the upper Great Lakes region and dry conditions in the northern Great Basin.
