Clean Fuels sends industry facts to Biden

A biofuels group has sent a letter to President Biden outlining the industry’s contribution to meet the needs of consumers.

Paul Winters with Clean Fuels Alliance America says U.S. biodiesel and renewable diesel production generates a four percent decrease in the price of diesel fuel.

“Those are fuels needed to move goods around the country to fill the long-haul semi-trucks, contributing to the needs of shipping all sorts of essential consumer items.”

He says the administration’s recent actions to grow Renewable Fuel Standard volumes for advanced biofuels and biomass-based diesel are good for the industry.

“Our industry has grown the past two years and is investing to produce even more fuel into the future,” Winters said. “It’s cleaner, better fuel. It’s better for the environment, it’s a boost to farmers, and it’s homegrown.”

Winters says their ag industry partners are investing more than $4 billion to expand the supply of renewable oils.
