A pioneer in the seed industry, Don Funk, has died.

Funk, a fourth-generation seedsman, brought innovation and performance to the seed industry.  In the 1980s he launched Agromatch, the first computer-based, algorithmic customer seed selection tool.  In 1999 he launched Channel Bio Corp, now owned by Bayer, and is one of the most recognized corn and soybean brands in the U.S.

Funk later re-acquired and re-launched the brands Midwest Seed Genetics and NC+.

Funk died of natural causes on June 9, 2022.
